Magura Cave lies in the limestone Rabisha mound near Rabisha village, about 17 km from Belogradchik. Its main gallery and three side branches extend for approximately 2,500 metres and contain stalactites, stalagmites, columns and cave pearls. A side gallery preserves numerous prehistoric drawings associated with ritual activity and periods extending into the Bronze and early Iron Ages. The property has appeared on Bulgaria's UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List since 1984 under cultural criteria (i) and (iii); it is not a World Heritage inscription. The cave is cool year-round, around 12°C, and paths can be damp and slippery; bring a warm layer and footwear with good grip.
